how do i stop it from coming back?
Here’s a link to the McAfee removal tool. Should work but, as has been said, it will remove all your McAfee programs. Great idea!

SiteAdvisor’s gone bad, some of the results are upto a year out of date. MyWOT seems much better.

If you have Admin access to your machine, remove it in Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. If you don’t have Admin access, you can’t remove it. If you are on a business or school machine and it’s being used on the gateway that connects you to the Internet, you cannot bypass it.

If it is in firefox, try the following:
goto Tools / Add-ons / Extensions tab
Scroll down to MacAfee SiteAdvisor, click it, to highlight it, and select Uninstall.
Restart Firefox, for the change to take effect.
i recently used the mcafee uninstall utility to remove ‘mcafee security center’ and it removed siteadvisor as well. so if you don’t have any other mcafee software, you may want to try that. i will say again tho, DO NOT use it if you have other mcafee software you want to keep.
