McAfee Site Advisor… help me!?

Posted by admin on March 16th, 2010 and filed under or site advisor |

Okay, so I’ve had McAfee Site Advisor for a while now and never had this problem before. Its really annoying and usually when I open Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer a little grey box comes up saying "Your New McAfee Site Advisor Software Has Been Updated!" Then it goes on to say it has added new software for my enhanced protection. It says new feature settings and has a little tic box so I can enable or disable the following - Enable Secure Search Box (Requires Browser Restart)
Block red sites from Secure Box results
Use Yahoo! for my default browser search
It then says I can change these settings from the main menu

It has a little box with an X so I can close it and also another box that says finish. Whatever one I click It goes to this site - http://www.siteadvisor.com/download/postinstall.html?pip=true&installchoice=2 Then the same message comes up again, with the same options and then whatever I click it opens ANOTHER internet on the SAME site with the SAME message. Over and over and over and over again. It also makes whatever I was doing before (lets say like… typing something into a search bar) well it makes it stop so I have to pay attention to the message… So then I click something and the same thing happens… another internet in the same site. I’ve tried to figure it out but nothings working so far… The only reason I’ve managed to get onto this and ask this question is sometimes, very rarely, it stops and lets me do what i want for a bit till the message comes up with another internet and stuff. Please Help!!

try uninstalling it and re install you could have had a bad update –it does happen with the internet (hicups)—when there is a moment when there is a break in the connection
