It tells you if a site is malicious or not before you even go on it. It’s the same thing as the WOT add-on. It’s incredibly useful. A lot of viruses can infect you just by going to a site, but the Site Advisor will warn you beforehand. I use the WOT add-on with Firefox and haven’t been let down yet.
I assume you have the link to McAfee Site Advisor so here’s WOT’s link: http://www.mywot.com/ References :
I have it on my computer and I love it.
when you google something, it notifies you if the website is good or bad before you click it.
the bad things? it installs updates frequently which freezes your pc for a couple of seconds. References :
Frank is telling you right. But i like web of trust better. Site adviser is good. I use both. I never had a problem with freezing myself. Mine has more memory than i will ever use. References :
McAfee Site Advisor is a good idea as it rates websites as being free from malicious activity such as trojans etc.
In reading an article recently i discovered that McAfee is very slow at updating tested websites and if one was blacklisted it could be a year before it’s tested and rated again.
Since it’s typical of McAfee these days to mess up a great idea and generally F*** up everything it’s name is on i have found and use a great alternative to McCrappy and doesn’t install a toolbar either.
The McAfee Site Advisor is good for your safety while surfing the internet…it will alert you by marking certain sites that have known to have caused viruses in the past….i don’t know much about the site advisor myself but, from reviews on the product they say it has a better than average rating…you will just have to make your own decision on this one…i give it a thumbs up ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ References :

It’s free to download and participate in if you like and is called Web Of Trust. You can get it here http://www.mywot.com/en/download/ff
You can get it for I.E. or Firefox and others.
