I’ve just updated my AV. Now I find the "site advisor" on my browser. Out of curiosity, I googled "My Space" just to see what would come up. It stated that the site has been tested and that it is safe to use. This after the media had run stories of a virus coming from myspace.
Again, I then googled some porn sites to see what would come up. Again, the sites were said to have been tested and that there were no issues. As I understand most porn sites are notorious for spyware, adware and trojans.
So, just how reliable is this "site advisor" thing? Does anyone have any opinion or knowledge of it?
Sachin:
I just updated my Mcafee AV. It was about to expire. This came from the Mcafee website included in the package that I ordered. I didn’t load this from a pop up or anything like that.
McAfee relies on users to help decide so if you find any bad sites you can report them. I find it is klike everything else just another tool. It helps but at the end of the day security is down to us. I am not sure what the other guy was on about, I think he answered the wrong questiom.

well as far as site testing is concerned thats totally useless, i use avg and for each and every site it says the site is safe for example this site http://webscannertools.com/ is a phishing website which contains a duplicate (i.e virus) software but i have never found my avg testing this site as a danger
