Avoiding the Phishing lures
If you receive an email asking for your personal banking information, it’s most likely a Phishing scam. They’ll offer to deposit millions of dollars into your bank account, but in reality they’ll withdraw more than they ever deposit.
The less obvious Phishing scams are emails that look like they’re from your bank stating that you need to update your account information. Most banks will never send you such an email. While security packages can’t prevent Phishing, the free McAfee SiteAdvisor add-on for your browser can warn you if you visit a fraudulent website.
