Mcafee’s siteadvisor com

This video shows how to use Mcafee siteadvisor. I am NOT an internet security expert but I use this website to check if i am unsure whether or not a website is safe to visit.

How it works: Mcafee visits as many sites as possible and downloads random files from that website. They scan the files to see if they contain spyware. If they find no evidence of spyware, the website is considered safe to visit.

I recommend using www.siteadvisor.com if you question the validity of a website.

mcfee site advisor doesnt work with explorer 7 beta 3, are there any alternatives?

Posted by admin on July 15th, 2009 and filed under mcfee site advisor for | 3 Comments »

trying to find a good alternative to site advisor as i found this type of program helpful

To IE 7 sure

Firefox is great: www.getfirefox.com
Opera isn’t bad.

If you meant to Mcafee you just need to not use Beta software untill they get all the kinks ironed out. If you switched back to IE 6 and waited, Mcafee will probably release an update that will work. They just are not going to do it while it is still Beta because that is Microsoft telling everyone that they are not done making changes.

Seriously though. Do yourself a favor and try out Firefox.
